This cabin was cute and clean, met all our needs. The floors were a bit creaky but overall we enjoyed our stay.
The rental cabin was just as pictured in the VRBO web site.Ideal location near Anchorage, Ghugach Mountains, Portage, Kenai peninsula and more.Great mountain views, near shops in Wasilla and yet away from the croud.Idealic place to relax and explore Alaska mountains, parks and nature in general at all points of the compass.
The cabin is cozy and with all amenities for a great vacation. Neighborhood is quiet and surrounded by mountain views, paths to walk. Prior to stay the host was very friendly and addressed any questions promptly as well as the property manager & Evolve team.
We would recommend this cabin to anyone that wishes a wonderful stay in Alaska and would come again if occasion arises.

We enjoyed the stay very much, your cabin is well built very good interior and exterior from cedar, spacious and well equipped with all necessities for a vacation. It is surrounded by Birch and fir trees in a very quiet neihborhood near Wassila/Palmer. Excellent location for walking, shops abound, parks are close. Anchorage is about 1 hour as per map. The views from inside the cabin and out are woods and mountains, serene and eye catching.
Your location was perfect for our travels within Anchorage, Ghugach and Talkeetna mountains, coastal areas and fishing resorts in Kenai, Portage glaciers, and all areas of the compass! Great.
Host was very friendly with questions and directions to his property. The Evolve team was helpful as well as property manager. Could not ask for a better vacation up north in Alaska. Recommend this to anyone who wants to have a relaxing time.
First...I did NOT contact the owner/representative for the issues, as I rented the cabin for our son to recoup from a small surgery for cancer, so I did not want to be interrupted during our stay. I own a property management in Sun Valley, Idaho, and know how things SHOULD be done. The cabin is quiet, cute and darling, but it was not clean. Neat and tidy, yes. But there was animal hair, human hair, extremely dusty in all rooms, needed to be vac'd, swept, mopped, appliances greasy. Probably forgotten after last renters. Coffee machine did not even turn on. But we preferred to remedy all of this on our own, as I said...the reason we were there. Not worth complaining about at the time. Would I recommend this cabin...I would give it a 3.5 out of 5, and only because it wasn't clean. Perhaps this semi negative review might help with their future assurances of 'clean and working'.
Hi Chloe, thanks for letting us know about your stay. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they would like to share the following:
-"Firstly, we'd like to point out that addressing concerns relies on us being aware of them. It's important to communicate any issues promptly, especially for guests who are property managers themselves, as we believe they understand the significance of timely reporting.
-Regarding the coffee maker, we assessed the situation based on the consumption of the provided coffee pods. It appears that the coffee maker may have been either damaged during your stay or stopped functioning. Unfortunately, we were not informed of this issue. However, the guest immediately following your stay reported a broken coffee maker on their first morning, and we promptly assisted them, delivering and installing a brand new coffee maker within hours. Failing to mention the broken coffee maker during your stay affected the experience of subsequent guests.
-Concerns about cleanliness have been addressed with our cleaning team. Regrettably, because this feedback was received over two weeks after your checkout, we can only make improvements for future stays. Additionally, please keep in mind that this is a rural log home situated in a rural area off a dirt road, and some dust is an inherent part of the environment.
-Lastly, you mentioned that it "was not worth complaining about at the time." We appreciate your honesty, but we also encourage guests to bring up any issues as they occur, as it allows us to promptly rectify them for a more enjoyable stay.
Please know that our team has been alerted to these concerns, and we are committed to continually improving the guest experience. We genuinely value your feedback, and we hope that any future stays with us will be more enjoyable."
