  • Surprise!

    2/5

The property is off the beaten path and not the easiest to find. The neighborhood is mixed. The cabin was a good size with ample furnishings. I could not rate it higher due to the following: The floor throughout is uneven and squeaks loudly. It appears the cabin is built on pilings that have heaved raising the floor in various places. For example, heaving underneath the tub/shower makes it unsafe. Rugs covering the heaves do not help. Furthermore, the kitchen area was not clean. The stovetop, refrig/freezer, lazy susan for pot and pans and some of the pans were not clean. Lastly, the 300 in fees was excessive.

    Manager's Response:

Hi Mark, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your review, and they wanted to share the following:
    - The floors do have some creaks and uneven spots, but they were fully replaced in 2023 by a licensed contractor, who confirmed there were no safety concerns.
    - We're sorry the kitchen didn’t meet your expectations for cleanliness. We always encourage guests to reach out during their stay so we can address any issues promptly and help improve your experience.
    - Regarding the fees, the total came to $152, including required taxes, a standard cleaning fee, and a pet fee. We strive to be transparent about costs upfront and are sorry for any confusion.
We appreciate your feedback and are always working to improve the guest experience.

  • Excellent!

    5/5

We were visiting from Fairbanks and truly enjoyed our 2 night stay! The cabin was very clean and the decor was very cute as well! I really appreciate the attention to detail on making our stay comfortable. Providing a couple laundry pods, clean sponge, and other little amenities was so nice to have! The beds were very comfortable and cozy and as a family who sleeps with fans, I really appreciated having a fan in the rooms as well. 10/10. We will definitely be back to stay again!

  • Weekend vacay

    5/5

road to unit was very steep, bad if icy which fortunately it was not, unit was well supplied with kitchen equipment bed and bath linens but some bath products and even hand soap would have been appreciated, 65 degrees is a little cold, even for Alaskans! Tap water is undrinkable and a filter was provided but it has expired. Love the lanterns.
