Better Than the Pictures
This cabin exceeded expectations in every way. The property sits on 5 acres, offering complete privacy with no houses in sight. The views are stunning—sweeping vistas of the valley and surrounding mountains. The abundance of healthy aspen trees throughout the property added to the overall experience.
The front deck faces the mountains and spans the entire length of the cabin. It’s well-furnished with comfortable seating and a large table, creating a perfect shaded area to relax.
Inside, the layout is spacious and well thought out. The main bedrooms are separated by the living area, providing privacy and quiet. There are plenty of sleeping options, all thoughtfully placed. Furniture throughout the home is comfortable, attractive, and functional—I didn’t feel the need to rearrange anything, which is rare for me. The couches, which appear overly soft in the photos, were actually firm and very comfortable. Both my friend and I commented on how nice they were.
The kitchen and bathrooms are nicely done with great attention to detail. Robes, ample towels, and stocked soap, shampoo, and body wash dispensers in the showers were all appreciated.
The house includes a solid collection of games and books—many related to the area, such as local history and wildlife guides. Everything was clean, quiet, peaceful, and well-designed.
As of July 2025, the cabin uses CenturyLink DSL. Internet speeds were consistently around 8 Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload. Streaming a movie on one device worked fine, and a short Zoom call was manageable. However, when both of us were online doing separate tasks, the connection slowed noticeably. We brought a Starlink setup as a backup, which helped.
The TV is on the small side (32 inches) and mounted above the fireplace. We moved it to a lower position for better viewing. The listing mentioned a second TV in a bedroom, but we didn’t find one. Next time, we plan to bring a larger screen for sports and movies.
In short, this is one of the best rentals we’ve stayed in over the years. Despite the slow internet and small TV, the quality of the cabin and setting more than made up for it. We’ll absolutely return.
The host was responsive.
One note: The elevation is about 9,500 feet, so staying hydrated is important.
Thank you so much for the kind review and suggestions. We are glad that you had a great stay and would love to have you back. We are working to get the TV and sound bar fixed. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.
