  Although the house is very nice and well kept; the stench of smoke was horrendous. I booked the home for a small group of ladies to celebrate my niece getting married and unfortunately, I couldn’t stay and enjoy the weekend festivities( even paid in advance events). I have allergies to smoke. We opened the windows, turned on the fans, lit a candle and I took allergy medicine; but nothing helped. I couldn’t breathe well. I was there only one evening and everything I came home with reeked of smoke. I contacted the owners immediately upon arrival when we opened the door. They said “they thought the previous renters might have smoked but didn’t. They burnt a pan of beans on the stove.” This type of smoke smell is not a weekend rental smoke nor burnt food. This is the type of smoke that’s in the furniture and everything else. The owner also said. “ it can’t be that bad if the others stayed”. Well IT IS, but they too paid a lot of money for pre planned events and are there to celebrate a “bride-to-be”. Some drove over 10 hours to be there. They don’t like the smell either but are dealing with it. With the allergies I had, I had to leave or would end up in the hospital. This home was advertised as non-smoking. Don’t let that fool you!!!!!! It is by far, quite the contrary.I received no compensation back from the owner. One of the girls also woke up to a nasty letter on her car from a neighbor ( unhappy with guests & parking).

  - We were unaware of the smoke odor before your arrival and sincerely regret that it affected your celebration weekend. As soon as you reached out, a full refund was offered at check-in to help make things right.
  - The home is—and has always been—a non-smoking property. The smoke odor came from a one-off incident involving the previous guest and has since been fully addressed to ensure the space is fresh and welcoming for future guests.
  - We were also disheartened to hear about the note left by a neighbor and want all guests to feel comfortable during their stay. They'll continue to work on positive community relations to prevent this from happening again.
