  • Not one of our better experiences

    2/5

We arrived up to the room about 15 minutes after the check in time of 4 PM. At this time I got a text from Heather the guest contact saying my entry PIN was not going to be what was in the email and she gave me another code. I'm thinking it didn't get changed from the previous guests. The cleaning lady was very frazzled. She was finishing up, and really apologetic, she wasn't the usual cleaning person, there was some type of crisis with her boss and people out sick. She said the AC was not working and she couldn't get it to work and called/texted her boss. I immediately texted Heather back and let her know again about the AC. She asked me to check if the display on the thermostat was lit up, it was not. My husband removed the cover and there were no batteries! She said she would have some brought right over. It ended up being almost 10:30 before we got the batteries. We got the AC going but noticed the drain pan for the unit in the closet was full and about to overflow. The filter was hanging into the drain pan and when the AC ran, the place smelled moldy. I sent Heather a picture. She informed me this should have been fixed 2 weeks ago and she'd get right on it. But it never got fixed while we were there.

The beds seemed smaller than queen, so we each took a bed. They were comfortable enough but they squeaked with every little movement. The sheets felt like they had sand on them. We checked out the beds and I don't think my sheets got changed. There was blood on them in addition to the sand. I found a new set of sheets in the closet and changed them out. I think the sand on the beds may be caused by the bedspreads getting thrown on the floor when they are making up the beds. The entire floor in the unit just felt like it had sand on it. I know, we're at the beach, it's expected. The curtain in the bedroom which is right inside the hallway is so thin, you can see people walking back and forth and the light shining in. We took the throw from the couch and hung it up over the curtain.

The view was nice and the location was pretty good. I didn't care for the pool area. It just didn't seem that clean to me. We had enough towels and exactly one brand new roll of toilet paper. We didn't really use the kitchen other than the fridge and sink.

We had some confusion when we first arrived as to which building we needed to be in, but a valet helped us figure that out and he secured a parking pass for us. He said every vehicle needs a pass to park in the garage.

When we got to the condo our code didn't work, luckily the guest contact responded immediately so we could get in. First thing I did was clean the floor, our feet was dirty from walking on the floors. The beds were not the best. One night of our stay the air conditioner stopped working, my husband discovered that the water/condensation that was coming from the unit was building up underneath and not draining. He had to take a cup and manually take out the water so the unit would turn back on. I reached out to our guest contact, but never heard back. Other than that, it was a good stay. The condo looked just as the pictures showed. My kids enjoyed the pools and lazy river.

The room was clean and looks just as the pictures, the bathroom mirror was my favorite. The only complaints was the beds were uncomfortable and the air conditioner stopped working due to the water/condensation not draining. My husband had to manually drain the water underneath with a cup. When I contacted our guest contact I never heard back. Luckily it turned back on after my husband drained all the water by hand. We also could not use the Murphy bed in the living room bc there was no room to pull it down with the bulky furniture.

For the price, it was a good stay though.

    Manager's Response:

Hi Christina, we appreciate you sharing your thoughts about your recent stay. Your feedback is essential to us, and we've relayed your comments to the homeowner, who would like to address the following:
    - We're pleased to hear that you found the room clean and that it matched the pictures. It's always a plus when the bathroom mirror leaves a positive impression.
    - While we try to accommodate all guests' comfort, we're sorry the beds didn't meet your preferences. We suggest that our guests use the fold out couch, and we will remove the murphy bed as an amenity.
    - We are sorry about the air conditioner issue but appreciate that your husband took the time to drain it.
    - We are sorry that our guest contact didn't respond to you. We will speak to her about immediately answering our guest requests.

Thank you for mentioning the value you found in your stay despite the issues. We hope you'll consider staying with us again, and we'll strive to provide an even better experience next time.

  • Room was nice, building was horrible

    3/5

Beds were comfortable but small, love being on the 20th floor for the view however elevators were horrible at least 1-2 down daily which meant only 1 working at all times and the wait to get on was 20 mins almost every time. Pools stunk. Also bring your own towels and toilet paper.

    Manager's Response:

Owner's response: "James, we want all of our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we're sorry that you experienced some issues during your trip.

    - The beds are all queen-size, not sure why they seemed small, this is how they are listed
    - We have made it clear to the cleaners that adequate toilet paper and extra towels are to be left in the unit, I'm not sure why they were missing. We wish you had called to let us know.
    - We're sorry for the inconvenience but the building is still making necessary repairs and the elevators are some of them.
    - We are glad you enjoyed the views and found the beds comfortable.

We truly go above and beyond for our guests, and are confident that future guests will have excellent stays! We will continue to deliver the 5-star experiences we know we can."

  • Required to find alternate accommodations

    1/5

Twelve floors of the tower were under renovation, except the suite we had rented, though it was on a floor under renovation. There was signage on each floor that said not to enter - construction zone, hallways had construction garbage, dirt and supplies everywhere and there was a strong smell of paint. The suite should NOT have been rented during renovations as it was not safe to stay on the floor. We were also not provided the accurate entrance code for several hours. Ultimately we were forced to find ourselves alternate accommodations, late at night, without assistance from the company. As there were many sporting competitions going on prices we high and availability was scarce. As a note, the ad was modified after we had rented though we weren’t advised of the information in advance.

    Manager's Response:

Hi Christina, we take it seriously when guests let us know that we missed the mark, and after sending your feedback to the homeowner, they’d like to share the following:
"Our sincere apologies that renovation of the tower was underway during your reserved dates. We were not informed that the floor of our suite would be in such a condition. The safety and comfort of our guests is our foremost priority. Had we known, we would have refrained from welcoming any guests to stay until it was finished. Construction has now been completed. A full refund was issued, and we are sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for taking the time to write your review."
